Sometime during 2006, after numerous chats about how marvellous our 2005 trip to South Africa had been during the Sunday night quiz at the Beacon, Shrewsbury we decided to return as a foursome in October 2007. We worked out a budget and agreed to try to get to at least one other African country during our stay and saved up all the odd pounds from our winnings in a Scratch Card fund that Steve maintained on his mobile 'phone.

After months of planning we met up on a chilly October morning all kinds of printouts. About 15 hours later, having changed at Amsterdam, we arrived at Johannesburg airport where we were staying for the first night before carrying on to Cape Town the following day.
