30 sleeps We're trying the other side of the world this time - the Med Europe, bit of west Africa and Brasil. We're sailing on the MS Rotterdam, flagship of the Holland America Line from Venice on October 22 to Rio, arriving November 16.

Getting to Rome and then Venice has been a bit of a drama but all good holidays involve dramas. We managed to book flights on points so it's Brisbane-Singapore-London-Rome. A quick overnighter in the eternal city before jumping on the train to Venice. Two nights there and we're off.

Scheduled ports are - Dubrovnik, Valetta (Malta), Messina (Sicily), Civitavecchia, Monaco, Valencia, Barcelona, Lisbon, Cadiz, Casablanca, Dalar, Recife, Salvador and finally Rio. Two nights Ipanema and finally home on LANChile.

Start of travels: Oct 18, 2007
