About this blog

Time to catch up with our past holidays.

An invite to a wedding being held in late 2003 gave us the excuse to spend a month travelling round the South Island of New Zealand - Al's home.

Started in Wellington, then after the obligatory Cook Straight ferry ride, took off from Picton in our Subey wagon to do a loop of the South Island.

Is there really anywhere on Earth that is more gobsmackingly spectacular? Al was very blaze but then I suppose it was where he grew up.

All I kept saying was "oh my god, look at that".

Word of warning - pictures are a mix from our first digital camera (a Samsung Digimax V4 4mp) and my trusty old Nikon film SLR that were converted to digital. How crap was the conversion and we paid a fortune! Not quite up to what we managed to produce for our later blogs.

hope you enjoy
