This is my first time off the North American continent, and I'm going to places that are in the time zone on the exact opposite side of the planet from the place I call home. Im an American-born Vietnamese going to a country where, though I look and talk like the natives, I will be viewed as just another foreigner. This trip has some special meaning for me, as it is more than a sightseeing trip--this is a chance for me to delve into my family history and bring to life elements of culture, custom, music, food, and family I had only previously heard about.
