Like most travel blogs, Gap Year Escape started off as a small pet project and a way of letting Amar Hussain’s family and friends know what he’s been up to.
“In the last six months Gap Year Escape has grown considerably,” he says. “As a result, it has become a full-time passion of mine.”
Amar says that Gap Year Escape has three main focuses; to inform, inspire and entertain.
He loves to write but he doesn’t keep a private journal.
Having amazing experiences and keeping them private doesn’t make any sense to him.
“It’s like discovering fire, putting it out and pretending it never happened,” Amar says.
What you won’t find on his blog is a corporate approach to travel.
He shies away from that, and stays true to his readers, and sticks to the types of stories that made his blog popular in the first place.

You have so many fantastic ideas, but I have a question – do they work in practice? You know, “An idea that is developed and put into action is more important than an idea that exists only as an idea.”
