If you’re an average, ambitious Gen Y-er, travel is not something you’re probably thinking about at the moment.
Stephanie Yoder says that those youngin’s are often concentrating on the beginnings of their careers and families, and thoughts of climbing mountains or lazing around on a beach are far from their minds.
“I think that often travel is something people put off for later in their lives,” she says. “When in reality your twenties can be the ideal time to travel.”
When you’re young, you have more energy, less responsibilities and a willingness to slum it that often disappears as time goes by.
Additionally, the lessons that you learn on the road can last you throughout your life.
Stephanie herself, is a twenty-five year old from Washington, DC who has either been traveling, living abroad or saving for travel since she graduated in 2007.
She’s currently planning a yearlong round-the-world trip during which she will be blogging from across the globe.
What I really enjoy about Stephanie’s site, is the deep-thinking, philosophical section of her website.
Stephanie waxes poetic about the joys of getting lost and what the movie, It’s a Wonderful Life has to do with travel.
