Gaby Suroto is your guide to Bali

Febriola Suroto (aka Gaby) is an expert on the Indonesian island of Bali.

As a recent transplant, she enjoys the laid-back lifestyle island living affords.

Gaby Suroto goes beyond Kuta in her blog about Bali

“Most people, when they come to Bali, set their mind & itinerary to their friend’s recommendation, a travel guide book or magazine,” she says.

“The result is: Kuta, Seminyak, and those famous touristy accommodations, restaurants and cafes.”

Gaby says that she’s heard the same thing from these travelers over and over again: “Is that it?”

“If you spend a little bit more time ‘surfing the ocean-net’ to find the insider tips of where the locals go, where we usually hang out and stay away from a crowded, noisy, touristy beach, you will find that there are still many beautiful hidden beaches in Bali yet to be revealed.”

For example, you’ll find Gaby’s popular blog post on her top 5 beaches in Bali and the reasons to stay away from Dreamland Beach.

Gaby’s not revealing everything she knows about Bali though, she keeps some of them to herself to make sure that elusive hidden beach stays a secret. You’ll have to find that one on your own.

If you can read Indonesian, in addition to the travel blogging she does on Bali, she writes a culinary blog called Wisata Kuliner Bali.
