Bret Sean and Jackie Appell are discriminating “Jet Packers”

Don’t call them budget travelers.

Bret Sean and Jackie Appell know how to find a deal, but they don’t sacrifice fun for low prices.

Bret and Jackie combine travel forces on TheJetPacker.com

“When we started traveling, we realized that too many travel blogs advocated cutting corners so much that eventually you strip your trip of any excitement,” Bret says.

“Sleeping on cockroach infested beds in a hostel and eating microwaveable noodle bowls doesn’t make for a memorable travel experience in our opinion.”

They help their readers take a high class vacation on a middle class budget on their blog, TheJetPacker.com.

Bret and Jackie share tips, deals, advice, resources and information on how to have a four-star trip at a two-star price.

You also won’t find them dodging machete-wielding villagers, fending off hungry lions, and traversing unstable terrain in developing countries.

Instead, they go to popular tourist destinations so that they can dole out advice before other people go there.

I loved reading their lists of things to eat in various countries. The list for the Netherlands is extensive, highlighting my favourite, the stroopwafel.

“We might visit the occasional obscure destination as long as we feel confident we’ll return with good stores to tell… and our limbs.”
