Hi Joel,
hi Marjolaine,
hi Tatiana,
hi Fiona,
Got your TravelPod webside from Karen. You are sure living in interesting times....and conditions. But, you have to feel somewhat confident with a driver/guide named 'Prosper'! The border crossings sound like the old 'spy vs. spy' movies.
I have a client that I have done a lot of remodeling for , he's a professor at SLU, and he takes lots of trips to Africa, Switzerland, France, England, Russia (he went here when the Berlin Wall fell to teach starting up new businesses), and one of the best stories they have told me is that many countries will take a Pepsi or Coke (maybe even other American lingo ) T- shirts in exchange for about anything! In Russia his wife was wearing a Pepsi T-shirt and a man offered his monthly allotment of Vodka for it! Vodka is ,like, their life blood to them. So....maybe pack a few shirts for your border crossings....might be a cheaper way to fly!
On a serious note, I pray for you and our family each day that our faithful Father keeps you all safe and healthy. Things like around the hotel can be scary in these times. I'm surprised the guy didnt get upset when your wife didn't agree with him about terrorism! well, not really----our Lord is a peacemaker !!!
It's good to see ather 'family ' members thousands of miles away, made possible because of your faith and committment. God's blessings be on you and your family, take care of yourself and each other....
