So where did you think I updated the blog with all the photos yesterday? Yes, in a Laundromat! Hahahahhaaa!! Laundry time seems to be our "down" time! We found a really cool Laundromat near the Passionfish restaurant. It is very modern, and sells itself as a “cyber” launderette. It was great for us, as it offered free wi-fi, as well as plug points where we could recharge our gadgets.

This is actually our longest stretch of days camping without electricity hook-ups. So that's the reason why we sometimes find ourselves scrambling for power.

Having indulged in the Dungeness crab for lunch, dinner was back to little snacks at the campsite.

Let me tell you about the campground at Veteran’s Memorial Park in Monterey. The park is a well-hidden park, up in the hills of Skyline Forest, where it looks like the rich people live, and it is just about 1-1.5 miles from the centre of Monterey. It is a perfect little spot, and if you remember, I was really quite happy with the facilities and the surroundings. However, having stayed there for 3 nights, my impression of it became quite thwarted. Due to the very adequate and good facilities, i.e. free, clean, unlimited-hot-water showers, we noticed during the course of the 3 nights, that many homeless people come here to have a shower. They are not your average streetbums, but mostly homeless people who live in their car (not very different from us, I guess!). After witnessing this stream of people for 3 nights and 3 mornings, I was ready to get out of there!
