We started the day by walking through the Fashion Show Mall, which is just opposite our hotel. There is a discount ticket booth just outside the mall, so we joined the queue to try to get tickets to a show for the evening. We were aiming for either Peepshow or Criss Angel. Our first choice was Peepshow and there were VIP table tickets available, so we went for it. It was quite a bargain, about 40% off the normal price.
We then went for lunch at Spago’s in Caesars. We had PASTA!!! I had a noodle craving, so the pasta definitely helped eased my craving. The food was great.... definitely not disappointed by Wolfgang Puck! Las Vegas is definitely an eating city!
We spent the rest of the afternoon walking The Strip and checking out the hotels. It is just crazy, how massive these hotels are! And of course, we also had a go at some of the slot machines J
As the show was at 9pm, we didn’t really have time for a proper dinner, so we decided to go for the buffet at the Planet Hollywood hotel, where the theatre is. It was quite a good buffet, featuring foods from different continents. There were Seafood, Chinese, Japanese, Italian, Middle Eastern and of course Dessert stations. There was actually a long queue when we got there at 7.30pm. Somehow, we managed to charm the waitress into letting us jump the queue :-) YIPPEE! But of course, all for a larger tip!
Peepshow is a singing, dancing, striptease, pole dancing show. It basically combines striptease with a musical theatre show. We were actually attracted to it as it features Holly Madison (sad, right?). We did think of going to a burlesque show, so we thought this would be a good combination. The show was great. The singers were fantastic! The music was great and the songs were put together really well. Holly was not all that great.... but who cares.... the show as a whole was great.
The theatre was REALLY strict with cameras, making everyone check in their cameras and any mobile phone with cameras. Anyone seen checking any electronic device that could be a camera would be escorted out, and true enough, a man was escorted out early on before the show started!
