As of 7:10PM last night, Cape Town time, I am now 9 years old!!! For my birthday, we drove to our friends - Paul and Lucille's - farm in the wine country. It is not that far from Cape Town, but it is really peaceful and lots of fun there. We go there every year but this was the first time we were there for my birthday. It was extra fun because Ashlyn was there and Alec, my friend, and his family also came to spend the night.

We played in the pool for a long time - and we also did hurling because Paul is Irish and he has some hurling sticks and balls. My favorite game was "Dunk the Dad", and we dunked both Paul and my dad. We also played "Marco Polo", and "Hit the Freak", where we tried to hit each other with a wet ball. We made a huge feast for dinner, with the best steak I have ever tasted, and also with lots of other great food. I got one of my presents early and it was the best one - a huge Swiss Army knife with at least 20 attachments Me with my Swiss Army knife

 ! I was very excited about it - and got to use it while I was there. Paul and Lucille gave me some cool attachments for my knife and some cool gadgets and also the book "Artemis Fowl", which I really want to read. We also ran around on the farm and made a fort. And I got to play with my DS and with Ashlyn's DS.

Alec and I found a giant cicada at the farm - it was huge and bigger than my hand and it was bright red! We caught it and checked it out for a while.

For my birthday, my mom decorated the breakfast table with lots of balloons and my Dad made everyone homemade pancakes with Nutella and whipped cream - the best! We swam for a long time, then we had my favorite food, penne with parmesan, for lunch. My mom and my sister and her friend Sienna made a great chocolate cake with Nutella frosting and lots of sprinkles, Smarties, and chocolate chips. It was a great way to spend my birthday.

In the afternoon, we drove back to Llandudno and went to dinner at a pizza place where I had another chocolate dessert! The guys sang happy birthday to me and also an army song. It was like this:

"I don't know but I been told, someone here is getting old"

Today we went surfing for a long time and I surfed with T.K. I definitely feel older today.

In only four days, it will be Christmas and I can't wait!
