This morning was very fun because we saw two tiger cubs right beside us. They were so cute! At first, they were hiding in the bamboo and laying down. The forest guides on elephants were also there and they went behind the tigers to protect us. One of the cubs came out of the bushes right beside us, stopped, picked up a big leaf, put it in his mouth and started playing with it. He kept coming closer to us and was very curious. You can tell he is curious if one ear is forward and one ear is turned back. He has two white behind his ears so if his mother is hunting and wants him to lie down, she flattens her ears so he can not see the white dots.

If I reached out, I could almost touch him, but that would not be a very good idea! Even though he was a cub, he is already bigger than his mother. We watched him play for a while. He also snarled at the elephants. It was very cool to see a tiger up close! Tigers don't live in groups like lions, they only stay with their mom and brothers and sisters, so this was a big group to see together.

We also went to see the Sleeping Vishnu, which is a giant statue laying down that was built in 2000 BC. Vishnu has a cobra on his head and body. Tigers come play on it sometimes and drink water from the pool next to it.

When we got back to camp, someone told us that there was a tiger on the grounds of the camp. It was very scary because mom had gone for a run. While my mom was running, she saw a black snake which could have been the most venomous snake in Asia. She did not see a tiger.

We went for our last drive tonight with Indrajit. He showed me a lot of cool birds, like a nightjar, a jungle fowl (he looked like a rooster), and a monarch (which is a flycatcher), plus a long billed vulture, and a whole family of peacocks. Tonight we had dinner under a giant mahua tree, under the stars. Gill, the camp manager, showed us Jupiter and Venus, plus Ursa Minor. We sat around a big bonfire and ate outside, which was great. I am very sad we are leaving tomorrow but I want to come back here!
