We walked down a street and found the main part of the market - the Tuna Auction and fish market. There were guys on these motorized carts racing everywhere and people shouting - the carts were kind of like bumper cars but they did not bump into anything! In one huge area, there were hundreds of giant tuna. The tuna were as big as me, and bigger! In one area, they had big frozen tuna and a giant machine that was slicing them in half
We walked into another area and there was a guy who had a tank of live fish and eels. He would pull one out, hold it down while it flapped around, then he would stab it in the head, cut off its tail and throw it in a bin. He did this over and over again. We also saw manta ray, octupus, squid, shrimp, clams, mussels, flounder, and every other kind of fish you can think of, all for sale.
As we left the market, we saw a shrine. There were two giant dragon heads that you could make offerings to, and also some bells and other things to ring. It was a very cool place.
Today we are going to explore the city some more and find a Halloween costume for me. It is Halloween - can you believe it? We are going trick or treating with Meredith and Isa tonight.
