Yesterday we drove down to New York City, where I used to live, to see friends, get haircuts, and pick up a few things before heading to Japan. I got to go to my friend Wyatt's house and hang out yesterday, and had dinner and hung out with my friend's Isabel and Antoine last night while my parents met some grownups for dinner.

Today, we had hot dogs for breakfast (I love the street dogs in New York!), and then did a little birthday and Christmas shopping before meeting my mom's good friend Holly for lunch. Holly is also my sister's godmother and she is really nice. She brought us pencils and pads for the trip and went with us to get Magnolia Bakery cupcakes, my very favorite cupcakes in the world! Our friends Steve and Tyra and Olivia are in charge of Magnolia now and it is so good!

This afternoon, our friends Dana and Tea met us and we went to the Central Park Zoo. We saw sea lions and polar bears (strange to see them in a zoo after seeing them in the wild) and snow monkeys (which we might see in Japan), and penquins (which we will see in South Africa). Tea and I rode scooters across the park to their house. Her brother Dominick was home from school and we all hung out and played with their Wii and had dinner.

Tomorrow, we get on a very, very long plane flight - 18 hours - to Tokyo!!! I want to see samurai warriors, ninjas, sumo wrestlers, and geishas, and also get some Pokemon cards from the place where they were invented - Japan! So until then, Sayanora!
