Well, today is the day. We drive to JFK and once we are on the plane to Spain, we are on the way for our year of travel and adventure. Last night we had a cookout at our pond. Isabel, Antoine, and Valentine came, and so did Woods and Harriet, and Keira, Nicolas, and Anna Sarah. We had a bonfire, ate hotdogs and smores and had sparklers. The grownups had champagne to toast our trip. It was a full moon, with lots of clouds. We got some goodbye presents - a compass and headlamp, and some balloons and stickers. We will be in Spain by Monday - and on the first part of our trip. Nicolas's parents and Woods's parents said they may meet us - that would be great! But for now, it is just us. Wish us luck - I am looking forward to hot chocolate in Barcelona but not sure about tapas. I might want to see bullfighting, but I don't want them to hurt the bulls. No matter what, we are on our way!
