07:25 I had an absolutely terrible nights sleep last night, there were mossies buzzing around, my skin was itchy, I had a sore thumb where monkey nipped me and I barely slept. When I finally woke up I couldn't seem to open my eye properly so I looked in the mirror and saw a puffed up eye and nose! What the hell has happened??
I packed up the last of my stuff then went to the jetty. Once again it is grey and has been raining overnight but actually a little brighter this morning. The boat took us back to the main land, it seems like most people are leaving today as the boat was very full, but I had booked a bus ticket to KL already so when I got off I waded through the men eager to sell trips/bus rides/taxis, and went to the bus station. The bus once again was very nice, much better than anything you get back home, so on I got, and off we went driving all the way across from one side of Malaysia to the other. Part way through the journey, shortly after lunch, one of the girls downstairs was sick, well that was enough to make me head upstairs and look for another seat as I couldn't sit with the smell. It's quite odd, most of the local people I've seen on transport in asia get sick, luckliy it's not something I have ever suffered with (well, except that one time in Vietnam which was probably also the food a bit too!)

The journey across Malaysia was pretty, it just seems to be wall to wall palm tress EVERYWHERE, I haven't seen any rice fields, animals grazing, coffee, tea, nothing but rows and rows of palm trees reaching into the distance, which is quite striking really as it just seems to unusual everytime you look out the window (unusual in the back of your mind sort of - I'm so used to seeing rice fields, or fields...just flatness I suppose and my brain is always surprised)
22:07 We arrived in KL at 7, and had to fight our way across town on the train as bus just dropped us off at the edge of a 3 lane road which was really crap actually as the only transport on offer was taxi's and the train stop an awkward walk away which involved struggling up a steep grass bank then over the massive 6 lane road. Finding the hostel was easy enough though I was was very impressed, I got in some amazing dorms at reggae mansions which are only 2 months old, and just fantastic - clean, modern, chic, and a 40 seat cinema with free popcorn.

Best: Reggae Mansions! Amazing!
Beautiful: the boat ride back to mainland, and the bus journey across Malaysia
Worst: the horrible smell when the girl was sick

Still suffering critter attacks I see! Those palms you see everywhere are probably palm oil plantations - Malaysia used to be the biggest palm oil producer in the world. Hope all goes well for the remainder of your trip.
