10:55 This morning I went back to bugis street, I wanted to try and swap camera for the lumix TZ20, but they wouldn't let me as they have a totally different consumer rights policy here, ie you can't take stuff back or exchange, so I will just need to work out how to make the best of the camera, and given the load of shots I took last night, as long as I have a tripod, I can get some cracking crisp shots.

I wandered down to the nearby godess of mercy temple and sri krishnan temple.
11:15 In the goddess of mercy temple everyone (mostly chinese) was furiously shaking out fortune sticks whilst in a praying position, whilst in the sri krishnan practically next door, there were one or two indian people and a holy man chanting and throwing flower petals over a statue. Both temples are so vibrant and full of colour, they are always a real pleasure to look at and inspect in close detail. Trying to get to understand all these new religions has been quite interesting really
12:05 After the temples I had a quick wander down bugis street and got new polaroid sunglasses as after 8months of daily wear and being thrown about, my others broke have got so scratched, the lens keeps falling out and finally one of the nose supports broke! I've never worn sunglasses so much before!

I continued my walk south past the church of st Joseph, the semi circular Singapore museum and the area down to raffles hotel. This area is full of churches!
Chijmes - which appears to be a grand old church has been turned into a shopping and food court. How bizarre!
By now I was heading back toward the hostel and I walked down by the war memorial and the Padang cricket ground on my left and st Andrews cathedral on my right with the financial area towering in the distance. The only proper sky scrapers around.
