17:58 We spent all day on motorbikes today, going from pakse up route 20 to tat lo about 50km away. This is a route suggested by the lonely planet.
It's Jane's first time ever on a motorbike and she was very nervous, convinced she couldn't do it, but with some help from me on how to get started and riding round in circles a while just to get the feel of it, we threw her in at the deep end and all set off on the real road. Paul and Angela are also quite beginners, so it was a very slow 'guys, do you think we can go faster than 30kmph because we have a long way to go!' beginning to the day. However, the Tarmac roads were very smooth and really quite quiet and everyone grew in confidence as the day went on.

We made our first stop at Utayan Bajiang champasak or Phasoume resort for lunch and to see their waterfall. Then we continued on up route 20 through several small villages, past endless corn and coffee fields, up into the hills slightly for a few more hours, all in glorious sun before reaching tat lo about 530pm, when it started to rain :(
We first looked at Tat Lo lodge, but it really was very expensive so we tried lonely planets other 'our pick' called Saise Guest house, which was right next to Tat Hang, a lovely waterfall just down from Tat Lo and got ourselves a bungalow per couple amongst the dense green gardens. Not a place to hate spiders, but I don't mind them actually, as long as I don't have to touch them.

Best: riding
Worst: bit of a slow start!
Beautiful: all the scenery, all the way
