11:52 Me and steve had breakfast and I caught up on my blog before anita and rishi came from their other hostel. We got the bus to tianemen square together for the last time. I said good bye about 11 at tianemen east station to get on the underground.

I've had a really great time with them all, they were all really lovely and good fun and I liked them all very much and I hope they found me the same despite my limitations, and that we will meet again in future. I wish I had been able to do more partying and drinking with them as I used to be able to in my 20s, but sadly I have to be careful with myself these days and if I want to be out and about seeing things then I have to avoid alcohol because it wipes me out so badly the next day. I can do days or nights but not both, despite my willingness and desire to do it all.

First my bags went through baggage check (on the underground!) then I bought my 2Y ticket for my on ride. 2Y that's like 20p!! How cheap is that!! The underground is very modern and smart and all the stops are marked on a flashing light board that shows where you are in english and Chinese, so it was easy to use. I got on the airport express, only 25Y and set off to the airport. It came from underground into the sun, high up on some rails so I could see the whole city.
I will be flying from Beijing capital airport, T2 on China Eastern Airlines to Tokyo Narita Airport on an Airbus Industrie 330 Jet. Very surprisingly the flight time is 5 and a half hours! It looks so close on a map, I thought it would only be a couple of hours away. It took me an hour to get to the airport using the underground.

When I found my seat I was really surprised to see one of the guys who I first met in Moscow and then again in the Ger camp coming up the aisle, even more surprised when he sat behind me! I asked if he was going to Tokyo, but he was going home to Brisbane. That's when I realised that this plane would stop off.

After an hour and a half flight to Shanghai, I had to get off for 40 mins, which more or less involved getting off the plane, gathering with about 10 other people and being shepherded through some back doors and into the the passport check area then back into the departure gates. I got a cheese and ham toastie and was immeditaly ushered back onto the train back to my same seat for the 5 hour flight to Tokyo.

19:55 Arrived at Tokyo and moved an hour ahead again.  I picked up the shuttle train to main airport and then set abuot finding trains and tickets.
20:32  It was 1000Y (7.57) for a slow train ticket into Tokyo, takes about an hour 20 and I'm gutted that train is set up like underground carriage and I have no seat, so wearing everything and very hot!
The number of people on the carriage petered out and at one point there was noone else on the carriage.

I arrived at the hostel about 1130pm, and had a bath, yes, a bath, one of those weirdly deep baths, it was sooo lovely. And then I went to bed. I'm in a room with 3 blokes, it is incredibly untidy with clothes everywhere and I'm just looking for a small square metre of floor I can call my own. I'm in the lower bunk - which is basically the floor, and no room to sit up. but our dorm of 4 has its own toilet and bathroom with bath.
Shattered after walking around with over 20kg loaded on my already tired legs, I went to sleep. I actually used my silk sleeping bag liner for the first time as it was a bit cool.

Best thing: A hot bath

Worst thing: Feeling like a stranger again

Most Beautiful: wow, erm. sunset whilst in the aeroplane

Feelings today: A bit sad leaving my new friends, really tired by the time I got to the hostel
