The beer in Prague is so so good. I'm not sure if it's just because I came from france and Italy or not but honestly even the cheapest beer you can buy is delicious (which works well with my travel principles.)
It's a bit strange. I've only been in one part of eastern Europe for two days so forgive my arrogance in this statement.
Speaking of I really need to stop trying to speak Italian to these people.
Went to a ballet with Lucie and her boyfriend Matous. It was a bit odd and the Czech was tough to follow but I'm very glad I went. Then we went to this awesome bar with a bunch of delicious beer on tap. The beer was amazing and dirt cheap. I had the best tasting beer of my life. Half liter. A little under $2.50. The table got 17 microbrew beers for 38 dollars. Luckily for my liver I am only visiting.
This morning I took a bus to a city called Cesky Krumlov. It is a historically important village but the tourist information center wasn't that helpful and I didn't have time to research so I can't say exactly why it is important. A very touristy joint but after aimlessly walking around I stumbled upon a huge "castle garden" and found space to hang out next to a pond.
Took lucie's advice and saw a movie tonight. The cinema called Lucerna was quite beautiful. It reminded more of an actual theater; curtains opened to show the screen, seats were assigned, there were even balconies. I saw a movie called Lidice which was fantastic. It recounted a true story about a Czech village that was razed by the Nazis during the war. Luckily it had subtitles and despite the film being really depressing, I enjoyed it thoroughly. There were a few scenes set at Prage Castle which I instantly recognized from walking around the other day.
