Things are going well.
We are hammering out many of the finer details.
But finer details do not start fires.

Passion burns.

I do not have passion.

I am passion.

I am burning.

Imagine you have an "itch" to scratch, something that stirs yearning.
Yet every time you scratch it, it only perpetuates. It yearns for more still.
There is no definitive end in sight and as far as you can tell, it never goes away.

When we need something and yet the fulfillment of that need is met and the need grows stronger still...what is this?

Is this passion?

I have heard it is. I have heard that when you play the instruments of the universe and hear their, your, and our song, you will want nothing more than to hear more. A self sustaining fire. It burns because it is.

I feel that passion in and of itself is not the focal point though. Rather, it is a by-product. But of what? They say there are only two major emotions and everything else stems from these two. They are Love and Fear. The interesting thing is through both conduits, you can still arrive at Passion. So what does this mean?

When the revered mother lifts a car off of her child, is it from love of the child or fear of the loss? I cannot say. But I know it makes me wonder. It makes me wonder if there isn't an inherent dose of one always within the other.

We can fall out of love. We can overcome fear. It is possible to be dealing with the good and end with a bad, and also to start off with a bad and end with a good. Is one innately more desirable and beneficial than the other? I would have to disagree.

On a tangent, I do not believe the proper polar of Love is indeed Hate as sometimes comes up. I feel it is fear. I feel love and fear occur naturally. Hate is something much more sinister and takes much more of an effort to put on. Let it go.

How many of you have been frozen in place by the grips of love?
How many of you have found speeds unknown motivated by fear?
How many of you have found speeds unknown motivated by love?
How many of you have been frozen in place by the grips of fear?

I will conclude with this particular angle. One not biased towards one side or the other. I will concede to the fact that a life in balance is just that. Love is needed. Fear is needed. But no matter which way you look at this, one thing is clear. Through either conduit it is possible to arrive at Passion.

What this leads me to believe is that everyone is already in possession of such powerful passion as to shake the very sounds of life. It is not that passion has to be attained. It has to be discovered, released. It is already there. You just have to let it out. Shine your light. Light your fire. Light yourself. Burn.

ps. I put a few of my favorite shots that I took from my trip to Rosarito back in October. I know these are late and out of context. Oh well.
