OK, I need to get wet.  No shower so I'm headed to some lakes.  It's in the high 90's yet very doable even in the shade.  And it gets down in the 50's at night.  Ideal for van camping so I can keep the windows rolled up, there are very few bugs here.  I only have run into a few mosquitos.

I'm getting pretty good at finding places to crash.  There are a few rules you pick up on as you go.  Last night I broke a couple rules.  Middle class neighborhoods with other cars parked on the street where there is bound to be a dark spot.  Good.  Once you park for the night, don't get out if you are in a neighborhood.  Well, it was hot.  I got ready for bed and had to blow some air into the van when some woman hits me with a mega watt flashlight from inside this house which I just noticed was a pretty darn nice house, oops rule #1, no wealthy hoods.  I hop in front in my boxers and take off all the while she's blasting me with a beam from heaven banning me from ever returning.  So I headed four blocks over and no problems.  That was my only interaction with others during my hobo nights.

That was worse than the night before when I opened the side door to let some air in before sleeping and I woke up an hour later with the door wide open and me in my civvies.  I am also looking forward to not getting up and peeing in a jug!  Van living is the life for me!

Headed south to Mt. Shasta and more volcanoes.
