Where I stayed
On the street
The bartender Alicia was from Grand Rapids and let have free pool. I slept in a nearing industrial block around the corner and made an early hasty get away.
Next up-- back to the woods.
Not many Portland pics, didn't want to be a tourist.
Yesterday was low travel. I boxed the city while driving, making sure to cross the bridges and get my bearings to see where I could spend some time. I ate lunch downtown, walked along the waterfront, then I parked way north of the Pearl neighborhood where they don't charge to park. I got my stuff and hoofed all the way SE and started criss-crossing my way back to the van. It was a good way to see a lot of Portland quick. I ended up at a local joint playing pool with a dude named Charlie and Bono from U2 who was flipping me shit about missing a shot. I couldn't think of an appropriate song title or lyric to smack him down with so I just said, "piss off, Bono, nice glasses!
