Bus Ride to Olympos

Today was a long bus ride with a few stops in between. Our first stop after breakfast was Fetihye where we saw some Lycian tombs similar to some we had seen in Dalyan, Fetihye was also a rest stop where we could buy snacks for our long bus ride. We then drove about two hours to a beach on the Med. sea and some of us preferred to watch everyone else do the 800 step trek down to the beach. After the beach we drove to Kas where we had lunch and another snack stop before heading to our destination - Olympos. In Olympos the itinerary said that we were staying in Tree houses - not so much tree houses as wooden cabins amongst some trees! After we got settled we drove to Chimera which is site of importance to ancient Greek mythology but in scientific circles is a mountain where a build up of gas releases fire sparks out of the rocks. It was pretty cool except for the 800m hike up the mountain (so not doing Sinai). After the mountain we went back to our tree houses and had tea. Not looking forward to tomorrow cos we have a nine hour bus ride overnight to Cappadocia.
