Well I have finally made it to Istanbul. It took a bit of effort as well. Got into Sinagpore at about 5:30pm after a few teary farewells at the airport and had to kill some time before my 11:40pm flight. Singapore airport is completely nuts!!!! I killed time in the Airport cinema and watched a semi-naked man running on a treadmill in the airport gym which I could see from Starbucks where I was in desperate need of caffeine. We finally boarded the plane for Dubai and I thought it would be ok because the lights on the plane would be turned out for people to sleep. But they didn't get turned off for about 2 hours into the flight which meant that I was wide awake especially after they served the meal. Didnit get to see much of Dubai but felt the heat even though it was 2am and we were inside. As I was going through security at Sinagpore I met a guy (bad that I can't remember his name but will call him Alan as he looks like Alan Brough from Spicks - can't spell) and we worked out that we will be on the same tour. He said that he had arranged for transfers from Istanbul airport to his hotel and we might be able to work it where I tag along. This worked out really well cos it only cost me 10 Euros. So we have decided that we will wander around Istanbul together as well so it is a bit safer. Istanbul is really cool though. Where I am staying is just down the road from all major tourist sites and there is a tram that runs all the way along as well. My hotel is a bit of a dump and it's not actually my hotel, I am supposed to be staying in the one opposite. I am probably paranoid but it sounds like the guys who work at the hotel are talking about me because they say something to each other and then it sounds like 'oh Australi' probably my imagination though. Well we are about to do some sight-seeing and see if we can find our way around (after something to eat though). I hope everyone is going well. Miss you all lots and lots, say hi to the kiddies for me.
