Since Ed was working and wouldn't get out until 1 am, Ross called me complaining about his loneliness at The Cave at around 10 pm. I got dressed and pretty and went to rescue him from solitude, but when I got there people had already started arriving for the private get together.

The place looked amazing. Multicolored lights illuminated the rocky surface of the cave, lit candles hidden in every nook and niche, Ross had cleaned up extensively and put everything together, except for the toilet doors. I was lucky I lived just next door in case I wanted to pee.

The people that had arrived were Marco, a Portuguese ex manager from the Blau Hotel, his German girlfriend Stephanie, and Paco, an ex waiter from Varadero. As I peered into the large cardboard box they had brought full of liqueurs and beers and soft drinks, I realized I had forgotten to bring my own drink. I quickly fled with Bernie to the nearest restaurant to see if they would sell us beer cans to go. Luckily they did. We just got a few cause neither of us were planning on drinking too much. All we wanted was to dance.

Slowly but surely, people started coming in, and even people that walked past in the street heard the music and wanted to enter, but we had to tell them it was a private party, no strangers allowed. Just as I expected, Ed walked through the door at 1 am sharp, automatically bobbing his head to the music with a smile on his face. Ross played some wicked, raw, rotten, electro-house music which made me flip out. He played the exact kind of dark beats I loved. Cheering him on and feeling completely E-levated, I looked around and realized no one was really dancing except Bernie, Ed and I. Everyone else was kind of moving around engaged in small chit chat. There were some girls in short skirts moving their bums as if dancing to Caribbean rhythms and drolling guys checking them out, but overall, everyone knew each other and had a good time.

Trace, the club´s owner finally arrived with his entourage of English friends, all from the London club scene. I met Eloise, a Warner Music executive who kindly introduced herself to everyone there and seemed to be having a great time at the Cave. I met Andy who has partnered up with Trace with La Cueva, and his beautiful wife Lauren.

Finally people started leaving, and Ed, Bernie and I were left all alone dancing to Ross the Boss. He played his last track and his small but enthusiastic audience clapped and cheered at the Dj. The lights were turned on, the sound equipment turned off, and we locked up the Cave until it was time to open its doors again, hopefully for the Grand Opening soon.
