As to what I will do about stuff in AK hey I'll get more stuff
. That is the thing about stuff there is always more to be had. AK is a transient population so I will just by used and enjoy it. Then will turn around and sell it so I don't have to worry about it latter. This all makes life easy. In fact if I could find a place that was already furnished that would be lovely and then I don't have to worry about buying stuff and could just walk away when I am ready. Stuff Stuff Stuff there is always stuff to be had.
It has been really nice spending the past few days in Maine. I have had the priviledge of seeing friends and catching up with them. It has started to seed to make me want to move back to Maine. Not yet but at some point. I do love the people here. The honest, fun loving, hard working and just basically nice and decent people are in abundance here. I have not seen that in other places in the USA. I must say this is a very special place. It has been nice to see my family and to connect with them. I feel that I am truly blessed.
I got to see the round pond parade which is the best. There is nothing like it. The only thing that comes close to the humor is the strolling of the heifers in brattleboro VT. So if you are a weird parade fan I say go check it out it. It is the first saturday in June each year
. It really is cow strolling down main street and people dressed in costume scooping poop. Lots of political message floats and family fun. So maybe someday I will write a book of odd parades in the US. What fun that would be to go see them, take pictures and get the history of the parades . . . hmmm better put that on the bucket list.
So I need to get going to go catch up with my friend from high school Andrea Bailey Ford. She and husband Joe now own a pottery business and I am so proud of her for reaching for her dreams. Check out her beautiful and original work at www.cabinpottery.com
So the car is packed except for a couple of things here and there. The plan is to finish today. I am absolutely amazed that everything I am taking fits in the roof top carrier and the back. The back seat is free for the cats. So this brings to mind how much do we actually need? I am bringing some blankets, camping gear, shoes (paired down from 50 pairs to about 15, hey I'm a shoe whore), a few kitchen gadgets, clothes and a few momentos from family and friends and some books, computer, and camera that is it. The question I was asked a lot is what are you doing with your stuff? What will you do without it? Well my stuff is in storage and now that I've been living out of a suitcase for a few weeks I am wondering if I even need it. I am living fine without it. Actually if feels free not to have it. However I am sure when I come back it will make my life easier to have it to move into a home with. So for now it stays in storage.
