...animal kingdom attacks...
Entry 101 of 115 | show all | print this entry |
I'm staying in a little hut on the beach - nothing particularly special but is nice and quiet :) soon I will head to my restaurant for a healthy breakfast. Slept great but was woken up by 5 dogs barking and playing in front of my balcony. It was time to get up, since it was already light outside - I actually slept very good! Went out to my balcony and while I was trying to picture my breakfast, I spotted a snake (well, thought it was) in a little lake in front of the hut. For all of you who do not know, that I don't see a thing with my glasses:) here is a hint: was wearing my glasses and was huge, so I ran inside, put in my contacts and came back out. The animal was on the other side and I could see that it was a giant (well --> BIG) lizard (like big iguana!), cruising around the lake, looking for food. Now it's on the other side of the lake --> and I'm happy - I don't want that thing close to my bed. I'm sure it's harmless, but lizards were never my passion :) damn, must be more than a meter long (with the lizard tail) oooh, it's going back to the lake - OMG, I think IT lives in the lake!
And as I was watching THE Liz (lizard Liz) before there were 2 giant birds jumping from a tree to tree! AWESOME! White and black, I'll try to find a name for them okk ... the bird from my roof just directly flew in the lake and took some breakfast out (did not see what it was)! there are things here jumping around all the time - it's kind of cool, I almost forgot how nice it is to see animals around ur house. UAU now to BRIGHT yellow birds chasing each other! (this seems like the highlight of my trip! - sitting on the balcony and observing the surroundings). Yesterday, when I came here, I thought I would die of boredom, but soon realized, that I've fallen into the "have to be entertained all the time obsession" which is bad. It's scary when u start noticing that quiet areas scare you. Never thought it would happen 2 me - especially after spending a lot of time in the Alps with scouts and my family. I know it feels good, but you loose the real feeling :( So Malaysia helps right now. Back in Australia, I should head to the national parks more often - it's good! yeeee a squirel - like thing just jumped on the balcony next to mine (now I'm afraid what was going on at night!:)
And yesterday, when I went to the beach I jumped into the water and looked around and was full of jellyfish! like 10cms big and quite cool looking. Luckily, I managed 2 escape without a physical contact! :) I've decided RIGHT now that I would like to go to West Papua haha! (I'm SURE!) cool .... beach ... simple things today
