We started the penultimate stage of our journey, heading south towards Miami.  We decided to stop at a town by Lake Ockeechobee, however we spent our time lazing around the motel recovering from our busy week in Orlando and didn't see too much of the lake.
We passed through acres of orange groves on the way there where they were busy harvesting the infamous Florida oranges.  We also passed a road sign warning of bears on the road.  Disappointingly we didn't see any!
On arrival at the motel Steven and Yvonne inspected the swimming pool for a dip later and although it was clean and good for swimming, we spotted a rather large beetle on the surface of the water.  It was about three inches long and was not the shiny black sort but a dark brown colour.  Initially Yvonne thought it had just landed in the pool by mistake and would flounder, however it deftly swam to the bottom of the pool and was clearly a water beetle.  Nothing would have got Yvonne in that pool, much to Steven's disappointment.
