We set off from Toowoomba to see Bald Rock, the second biggest rock in Australia, however we never found it!  The journey took us to Nooboo Nooboo National Park where there were kangaroos wandering by the roadside.  As this was something we had wanted to see we left satisfied!
We then headed to Nimbin which has a reputation for being relaxed in the 'herbal' department!  The roads had many bends which is not conducive to Steven's well being and he managed to vomit on several occasions, although very tidily, much too our relief in the hire car!  We wandered around Nimbin which was indeed smelling, even over the smell of Steven, very herbal.  We, of course, did not indulge.  The atmosphere is a little like a music festival in England with many shops, and stalls as it was the market day, selling tie dye clothes, joss sticks, etc.
We made the decision to head on out to the Pacific Highway again as it was a nice straight road and was likely to be a happier ride for Steven.  We stopped overnight at Mclean, which we had passed through on the way north.  It claims to be Australia's Scottish town and every telegraph pole is painted with a different Scottish tartan and it has Scottish festivals every year.  There are probably few towns in Scotland that are that Scottish!  It is also quite curious because many of the buildings look as though they come straight from a Western film.   As D pointed out, many of these towns were built for the similar purpose of gold prospecting  and maybe that's why.  The cemetery was also curious as it was on one piece of land but had signs up to indicate the Methodist, Baptist, atheist, etc. places burial.
