As always, plans are there to be changed!  We headed for Australia Zoo, but instead made the decision to head inland.  D gets irate at the very mention of Steve Irwin and the idea of his name being mentioned at every opportunity appeared to be not so good for his blood pressure!  In addition, we had heard that it was very expensive and we thought that Steven would enjoy a smaller zoo where we could get better value for money might be more appropriate and the real decider was the weather.  Temperatures in Australia had constantly been around 35 degrees and the idea of having to walk around the zoo in such temperatures was off-putting.
So - decision made we headed for Toowoomba where the weather was more amenable and it would be good to see some inland towns.  Toowoomba was much larger than we thought but there was some magnificent scenery, not done credit by photos.  We also visited Cobb and Co, a museum which specialised in old horse carriages.  This was a small museum but had enough to entertain Steven had he not been having a bit of an off day!
