D immediately loved his return to the first world and the western way of living. The weather was significantly cooler too. They are not having a particularly good summer in Australia so far this year.
The accommodation is bigger than Yvonne had anticipated when she booked it, which is a great relief as we are spending 12 days in it. We have a kitchen/dining room where we can cook our own food; a good shower room and toilet where you don't sit on the toilet to shower and a large bedroom/living room upstairs and comfy mattresses! The garden is enclosed and as the residents include two year old twins and Steven has free run of the garden, he is in his element. Favourite toys include the plastic wendy house and the shopping trolley!
We had to go shopping to get in sufficient supplies for Christmas, tomorrow being Christmas Day. Our 'landlady' gave us instructions to get to a mall and we feared the worst, knowing what it is like in England on Christmas Eve, however it was a pleasant surprise to find that shelves were sufficiently stocked and it was similar to a busy Thursday afternoon in Tescos! We managed to find most of what we needed and returned home after a few hours. We bought a tiny Christmas tree, a little model Father Christmas and two bits of tinsel and have made the room look a bit Christmassy. D has turkey ready for his dinner and is looking forward to some roast potatoes!
Steven put out two carrots for the reindeer and a glass of Gentleman Jack for Father Christmas and it's amazing, it doesn't matter where you are in the world, if you've been good, Father Christmas will find you! He has just arrived and left Steven with no less than 45 presents in his Christmas stocking! How did he manage that on his weight allowance at the airport?! It must be magic!
