got to berlin way too early.  for the capital of one of the most modern countries in europe, nothing was open or running.  i walked pretty muc hthe entire length of the city, from the bus station to the train station, and fell asleep.
when the sun came up i called an old friend, andi, and got directions to his house. 
i spent the next several days crashing at his 'commune'.  met some cool people and got to know the city.  spent three days exploring berlin.  the pergamon museum rocks.  hung out with andi and his roommates at a park/rave and got stoned.  my german has really declined, but i understood some 'homeless' kids who wanted to jump in on the joint passing.  we hopped around from 'bunker club' to 'bunker-club' and ended the night by skinny dipping in an old 'barrel'. 
four days later, i took a bus and a ferry to copenhagen and met up with nick.
