We arrived back in Cairo after our wonderful tour of the Middle East: Egypt, Israel, and Jordan.  All three of the countries are very different and together they give you a window to the complex culture that exists here.  Definitely one of the more interesting parts of our trip so far.

It's nice to come back to a city you've already visited (like we did with Bangkok).  We already know the good restaurants, the right grocery store, and how to get around.  We also know a place where the Internet is 30 cents per hour, which is where we have been spending the last couple days doing a massive update on this log.  On Thursday night, the 24th, we make the flight to our last region: East and South Africa.  We still have an 8-week overland trek from Kenya to South Africa to look forward to, but it seems that already our trip is drawing to a close.  Our final flight is on the 4th of October back to New York.  As always, it's a little nerve-wracking flying into a new culture, and its sad to leave the now comfortable culture here in the Middle East.  But it's exciting as well.  Wish us luck.

Amazing stamina
Erin/Travis You've been quiet for a few weeks, been thinking of you, on this trip of a lifetime. Saving the best for last in Africa?..as per Trav's note: A bit of trepidation will ensure wellness.
Best wishes for continued safe passage. L, Dad
