When we finally made it to Aqaba on the coast, and our last stop in Jordan, we were tired, sandy, sweaty, and in desperate need of a shower.  Aqaba was known as a diving/beach town, but it was more expensive then Egypt and all we wanted to do was relax.  So we checked into a hotel that had a nice shower and (quite a treat) a television with an English channel.  It was scorching here, so hot that moving was an effort.  So we didn't move much.

We did walk down to get our Egyptian visa.  We had decided not to take the ferry to Egypt, since it cost so much and reputedly took an entire day of insanity to accomplish.  We would make the short hop through Israel to Egypt.  It was much cheaper, but we needed a visa in advance when coming from Israel.  Luckily the consulate in Aqaba issued the visa in about two hours, and we prepared for an early crossing the next day.  We also discovered a delicious schwarma/bread wrap/toasted sandwich that was delicious.

As for tourist sites and the beach....we didn't make it.
