I thought that I should get a word in before Travis paints a picture
all his own. We will be taking turns writing in this travelogue,
and have different takes on life in general, so keep that in mind when
you read any updates. For example, Travis is extremely
sarcastic. We do hope, however, that it all comes together to be
an entertaining and informative read for you and us for years to
come.
Travis is certainly responsible for getting the
ball rolling on this trip, and I must say that I am grateful that he
let me tag along and use his money to have such an amazing
experience. I am also so glad that I will not spend six months
hiking in the mountains. Besides, the Himalayas will be much more
impressive than the Appalachian Trail. And much shorter.
Additionally, while my husband is planning to be an engineer and is
therefore living outside the box with this adventure, I am hoping that
this will give me some experience and insights that I can use in my
future career in the field of International Relations-Refugee
Resettlement-Making the world a better place to live in. Ergo,
you may hear me wanting to stay in a place and work for a short while,
and you will probably not hear this from Travis. Maybe I'll be
able to wear him down, but we both definitely want to take the world by
storm and let it assault our senses and make us rethink
everything. Maybe not EVERYTHING, but you get the idea.
Enjoy, and welcome to youngtravellers rtw travelogue!
