It has been 23 days, 12 states, and over 25 cities. The United States is more diverse and interesting than i would have ever imagined.I am traveling solo now, and want to thank Charlie for the exciting adventures we had. The driving is more difficult, and I am immune to red bull and have switched to coffee and 5 hour energy.
But the grand canyon was awesome, and running/biking trails has still been exhilarating on my own. There were no campsites available at the Grand Canyon, but I was lucky enough to get a camping spot in Zion National Park. Zion was amazing. There was a younger crowd, tons of trails, and the scenery was soooo awesome. I met a couple of girls from England and a couple from Pasedena who were extremely nice. We bathed in the stream and roasted marshmellows together. If anyone can remember my entry on Nederland, Co and my sleeping conditions, then believe me now when I say Zion was the complete opposite. Instead of 35 degree sleeping, it was 100 degrees sleeping. I am torn between which is worse. For $16 and new friends, I will have to go with Zion.
I am now back in Vail, Co with a wonderful host and friend, Katye. The weather is perfect and the people are friendly. I wouldn't mind living in Vail at all. Between some relaxation, the World Cup finals, and buying a CD in a CD store (yeah! I didn't know they still existed either), I am enjoying my time here. I am hunting for challenging off road trails, strenuous hikes, and extreme mountain biking trails for the next couple of days then it is off to Denver. Hope all is well!
