OK... I haven't kept up with my summaries of each country.. but that's mostly because I didn't really feel anything about Argentina or Chile... I don't think I spent enough time outside the cities to really feel anything, apart from the need to go out and socialise... To me, Chile and Argentina had a really European feel to them, which didn't do much to excite my desire to write about them... at the same time, the local people I met in those places were some of the friendliest I came across, and I also met a load of other travellers that I hope to stay in touch with... I had a fantastic time in both places, but it was more party time than travel time... I'm not saying that the countries have nothing else to offer, because I know that's not true... I just didn't have the time or money to seek out anything else...
OK, moving on... so... my South America... to me, it's a continent of extreme contrast... contrast in landscape, culture, custom, climate, language and countless other things... for me, the biggest contrast is between the things I think I'll remember... from the enormity of Macchu Pichu and the Andes, to the little things, like the taxis with their seat belts cut out (that's all of them, by the way)... I have a feeling that the things in between (apart from the friends) may be forgotten... but fortunately, as they say, it's the little things that count.
My only regret about South America is not seeing enough of it. I'd love to spend more time in Bolivia and Peru, places that I really enjoyed and would love to go back to... but then I also want to see all the places I didn't get a chance to go to... but you can't have it all, right? I think we got to see a lot in our six week tour, and we have a whole lot ahead of us... let's just say I don't think South America's seen the last of me yet :)
