Tom in San Pedro de Atacama
Tom in San Pedro de Atacama

So, after arriving in San Pedro de Atacama (SPDA), Tom and I were both sick... Iīm not going to go into details, but we didnīt eat for a whole day and were feeling a bit sorry for ourselves... Flippin chicken on that flippin salt flats tour!!

Aaanyway... after our little rest and feeling slightly refreshed, we rented bikes and sandboards and cycled off into the Atacama desert to have a look at the dunes... It was a bit of a struggle up hill and over some rocky terrain, but finally we arrived at a pretty big dune...

Another struggle to get up it with our boards and we prepared ourselves at the top by waxing our boards... I had a little Bad Boy one, and Tom somehow managed to get a big Falcon Speed board! haha!

It was a bit like snowboarding, only we didnīt really manage to get up enough speed to carve, so just went down in short bursts...

We did this three times each, as it was bloody hard work getting back to the top of the dune!

Overall it was a good laugh, but snowboarding still comes top of my boaring list... Good job too, because weīre going to try and get some powder in when we get to Santiago!

sand-boarding!
Your photos made me laugh-out loud!! You look so pleased with yourself holding your sand-board. Oh and I see you've taken one of my ideas and a beautiful shot of Tom's shadow!!! It's a really great picture!!

More soon!
Lots of love
