Sean left this morning to return to the USA after wonderful three weeks together. I miss him already. Earlier I found a Sugar Cane juice vendor that I'm sure he would have loved to try . . .   :-(

The good news is that he wants to rejoin me in a couple of months for a longer period than originally planned! Yippee!!!

Bangkok's pollution finally got to me and I got myself a nice eye infection.  My left eyelid is drooping and the tear duct is swollen. So I'm spending the day at an air-conditioned Internet cafe at one of Bangkok's malls with anti-inflammatory eye drops every few hours. This gave me an opportunity to finally post a few of the blogs I wrote in the past three weeks. I have a few more written but will post them at a later time.

Tomorrow morning I'm taking a train to Sukhotai, Thailand's ancient capital. "Sukhotai" means "rising happiness" so I'm glad I'm going to check it out. In addition to old ruins, there is going to be a "Loy Kra Thong" festival there this weekend <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loy_Krathong>, which is the reason for heading back north.   After the festival I'll be zooming southeast to Koh Chang and Koh Kood. "Koh" means "island", and these two islands are supposed to be especially beautiful. I'm looking forward to some R&R there before continuing my journey to Cambodia.

P.S.
Thank you all for the lovely and supportive comments and emails. I'm glad to see so many of you are interested in reading this blog.

Yoyo Dear, If you have an eye infection you will need antibiotic drops not just an anti-inflammatory. If you can't get them let me know and I can FedEx some to your next stop. Be careful out there... it's a jungle! LOL

Yorron,
What was the princess wearing?? Did she have a cone hat with a ribbon out the top like in fairy tales ;-) ??

Every time you self-assess, are you singing U2 to yourself ('I still haven't found what I'm looking for...).

I'm so proud (and jealous, let's be real) of you. Tons of love! Rachel
p.s. can you post a picture of you with Sean, if he really exists??

This sounds like an amazing trip and it is just beginning. As you know I did something similar but for less time (a year ago now I was in India). There I struggled with loneliness and the fragility of my identity. I experienced very intense and creative dreams some of witch where quite disturbing. I hope you will keep us abreast of your internal emotional states with each post. As always my s... show all

It's lovely and sunny here in Sukuthai and the rent is much cheaper than Toronto. Not much of a Jewish community though, so it might be the end of your Jewish educator career if you choose to follow the sun. :-)

Of course I remember you, Glendene! I'm glad you are enjoying the blog. It is a jopyful experience to write it.
Still going to Dharma Punks? Have not been meditating in the past three weeks. I think I'm going to start as soon as I get off this computer.

Hi Yaron,

Don't know if you remember me, but we met at Dharma Punks in Santa Monica, and have practiced yoga together at YIO.

Surprisingly, I am on your list of people to receive your blog. Congratulations on your journey. What an exciting adventure. I cannot wait to keep reading. No doubt whatever happens it will truly be a life changing experience.

Good luck to you ... show all
