You don't want to go to Bari trust me. Big city, not much to see, very industrial, no reel unique feel. The hostel I stayed in was the most crummy hostel I've stayed in since I arrived in Italy. I did meet a nice Argentinian fellow there though, and we spent the night wandering around and having some drinks at the local bars.
