The ride was extremely short yet the traffic was heavy and the cobble stone roads became a serious headache (literally!). I arrived in Pompeii, tried to dodge the Mob-style information points offering a wide variety of tourist traps and found a relatively cheap camping site rite out side of town. I spent the afternoon going through the ruins of Pompeii. Of course I was not able to cover a lot of ground but I was able to appreciate some of the more remarkably preserved houses. What was interesting to see was how an archaeological spot has changed and developed through out roughly two centuries, being one of the oldest popular archaeological spots in the world.
