Nairobi, Kenya
The driver tried to get little Miss henna ankles to go to a hotel room with him last night but she refused and stayed in the cab, which resulted in him banging the side of the truck and yelling "F__ you" in English. We assumed he slept in the back on the load, or maybe he didn't sleep at all because we started again while it was still dark. He has a sullen disposition generally and he is in an even worse mood this morning. We haven't seen him eating chat this morning either.
We arrived in Nairobi this morning about 7. The traffic was bumper to bumper, and our driver is so tired that several times when the cars ahead moved up we just sat there because he didn't even notice until the young man with us said something. He has to be burned out, because we sure were. When he thought we were as close to down town as he was going he let us off. We took a taxi to the Terminal Hotel, which is recommended in our Lonely Planet guide. Our room costs 1700 KS with comfortable beds, mosquito nets, en suite toilet and hot shower. We slept until late afternoon and went to a mall across the street for something to eat. Then back to bed again.

Nairobi, Kenya
Nairobi is a big modern city surrounded by miles and miles of slums. The modern parts are quite nice, physically much nicer than Addis but without the character of Addis. We've decided to go on straight to Tanzania from here. It's Saturday so we'll have to wait until Monday to get our visas for Tanzania.
