Day two in the outback:
We continue on the Matilda Highway to Normington [GPS 18 12.138S 141 04.630E] where the biggest crocodile every known was shot by some lady there who was made about it eating here chickens. They made a replica of the croc which was placed in the center of town. Then on to the Burke and Wills Roadhouse. [17 40.112S 141 04.831E] Burke and Wills were early explorers who traveled from Victoria to reach the Gulf of Carpenteria. They achieved their goal but perished in the desert on the way back; which we took as a warning to stay with our tour group. Eleven of us are on the bus, including a couple from Wisconsin. Ya, u betcha a. After a beer at the roadhouse, we continue on to Gregory Downs [18 38.768S 139 15.831E] for a BBQ lunch and a swim in the Gregory River. Then off again to the Lawn Hill National Park where we canoed down the Inndari River in an impressive 60 meter deep gorge with sand stone cliff on either side of us. Once through the gorge we were at the Inndari Falls [GPS 18 42.5115S 138 28.974E] where we swam in a crystal clear pool and frolicked in the falls. Almost like the movies. We had to paddle back, but going through the gorge again was worth it. We had dinner and slept like babies at the nearby Adels Grove. [GPS 18 41.388S 138 31.819E]
