We started the New Year with a tour of the Whitsunday Islands. A modern high speed catamaran whisked a boat load of us tourists to three islands, two beaches and a coral reef, feed us three meals, and got us back again before 5 PM. Definitely a trip designed for tourist who wanted to be able to say they've been there and done that. But we did get a taste of the islands and if we'd had loads of time to spend in Oz this is one place we might chose to camp out in a tent on some secluded island on Whitsunday Islands National Park away from the tourists at $5/nite until we were totally bored.
