From Rotorua we took the bus to Wellington.  The ride was worth the price by itself.  Some stunning landscape.  We pass along the edge of Lake Taupo and the Tongariro National Park.  Highway 1 gives us a great view of the volcanos Mt. Ngauruhoe and Mt. Ruapehn.  The latter is Mt. Doom in the Hobbit series.  It's no wonder they picked New Zealand to film the movie.  But the locals tell us the South Island is even better.  It's too bad we didn't leave more time for New Zealand.  Anyway where on to the capital.
