We're at the gracefully aging Rakiraki Hotel. The rooms are nice at $60 Fijian with a fan and private bath and shower. More importantly they have an expansive patio with a couple shelters and an excellent pool which we are right now making use of. Early this morning we took the Sunbeam express bus out of Savu. We traveled the Kings Highway into the northern highlands of the interior of Viti Levu. This is the main island of Fiji and the only one we plan to visit while in Fiji. Tomorrow we'll head back to Nadi which is where we started on this circle tour of the island. The King's Highway goes through some beautiful tropical island mountain scenery. The paved road peters out about halfway and there's a long stretch of one lane gravel road with gut tightening mountain edged turns. Then back onto some newly constructed improved road for the rest of the trip here to Rakiraki, which was really the most scenic stretch anyway.

You should be able to see us by the pool if you Google Earth at S. 17 degrees 21.596' latitude and E. 178 degrees 09.219' longitude.

Bula, bula...
I don't believe that for a minute, Arvid, that you really caused the entire captital city to go dark...well, maybe, a little, I do!

I havent tried to find you on Google Earth yet. Maybe later this week we will have some free time, and I can fiddle around with it.

The second bottle of Two Buck Chuck was dreadful...as bad as the first one was good...very odd, eh?

Glad you are enjoying all the sights and smells. Are you guys using coconut oil soap, too...sure hope so, for the locals' sakes...

I am working on getting the final hand finishing done on the paraments. So far so good.

Jim says Hello. In proximity...of course.

Love to you both, San
