From 1 November to 11 November I spent lazy and wonderful days on the coast of Mocambique. 6 days at Bamboozi Backpackers in Tofo and 5 days up around Vilanculos (or Villanculo? Or Vilanculo?). What can I say? Highlights?

1. Snorkling with a whale shark for over 30 minutes must be one of the most special experiences I have had. I believe this one was around 6.5 meters, but the biggest one ever spotted has been 12.5 meters. This species, despite its enormous size, does not pose any significant danger to humans. They are actually quite gentle and can be playful with divers. Divers and snorkelers can swim with this giant fish without any risk apart from unintentionally being hit by the shark's large tail fin. See picture. 021 Snorkling with the Whale Shark

2. Trip to Bazaruto Archipelago outside Vilankulos. A group of islands where we snorkeled, camped, watched the sunset, watched the sunrise and had the most fabolous dhow ride. We went with Dolphin Dows and paid USD 80 for 2 days. Incredible the type of food they manage to make on a dhow. Well worth the money!

After 12 days of sunshine and fun in Mocambique, I decided to include a new country. Zimbabwe here I come.
