My legs hurt so much! Who would have thought that carrying all your possessions on your back for hours then walking around sightseeing would hurt so much. Our second night wasn't as nice as our first as our dorm is starting to fill up. This morning I woke up facing a Chinese man who is in the bed next to me and behind him is an Israeli girl who never seems to be around. Strangely 4 girls also joined our dorm around mid-day who we were in Beijing with 5 months ago. China isn’t so big after all.

Today we bought 2 more train tickets from Jinan to Weihai and another from Jinan to Taishan then tried to help Hilary and Jamie with theirs. We all then took a walk down to the Drum tower which was about 45 minutes away from our hostel. After looking around the tower we found our way into the Muslim Quarters which is a giant market street full of street vendors and small trinket shops. Jamie managed to haggle down the price of his wallet while we managed to haggle down the price of some tiger balm from 150Kaui to 10Kaui, this is now my little talent. The tiger balm is for Oliver’s mosquito bites as they are practically eating him whole. One was nice enough to bite him on his eye lid so now his eye lid has swollen over his eye. He looks a bit like Popeye now. A few metres away from the Muslim Quarters and the Drum tower is the Bell tower. This is nothing like we thought it would be as it was in the middle of a giant scary looking roundabout. To get into the Bell tower you had to use an underground subway which as hard as it may sound, we got lost in. This was a bit of a disappointment but was soon corrected by the ice cold refreshing orange juice we managed to find along one of the smaller streets behind. Walking around all day while it’s 30 degrees out is very dehydrating so whenever we see a fridge full of drinks we can’t help but drool until we get one. From the Bell tower we decided to walk back towards the hostel to have a few games of pool and have a bit of a rest. Later in the evening we all went back to the Muslim Quarters to visit the night market for our dinner. Oliver managed to haggle for some squid on a stick while I got us some coriander flat breads which were unbelievably tasty. When it got to about 10pm we headed back to the hostel for a shower and a good nights sleep.

Oliver’s bit: MY EYE REALLLLY HURTS. I got bitten on my eye lid how does that even happen could I be the unluckiest mozzy bite victim ever? Yes. So we bought some tiger balm to help contain the pain and for those who don’t know tiger balm is similar to deep heat and it hurts like hell if you wipe it somewhere that doesn’t already hurt.
